A Magical Day Inside LEGO House Billund
During our one-week trip to Billund, we spent one full day exploring LEGO House – and honestly, it was one of the most creative and inspiring family days we’ve ever had. Since our kids are huge LEGO fans, this stop was a dream come true.
We had already enjoyed Legoland Billund, but LEGO House was something special — more creative, more interactive, and truly a place where imagination takes center stage.
If your kids love LEGO, this place is pure heaven. It’s not a theme park – it’s a hands-on experience center where imagination and play come to life.
Watch our LEGO House adventure on YouTube:

What Is LEGO House?
Located right in the heart of Billund (the hometown of LEGO), LEGO House is often called “The Home of the Brick.” It’s part museum, part interactive playground, part creative lab – all under one roof.

First Impressions – The Giant LEGO Tree
As soon as we stepped inside, we were greeted by the massive LEGO Tree of Creativity — made of over 6 million LEGO bricks!
It’s breathtaking in person. The kids stood frozen for a second, just staring at the details — birds, ladders, tiny builders — everything made from LEGO.
The atmosphere felt magical right from the start. You can almost feel the creativity in the air!

The LEGO Dinosaurs That Made Our Day
As we made our way upstairs, we were immediately greeted by three enormous LEGO dinosaurs — one red, one green, one yellow — each built entirely from LEGO bricks.
Honestly, even just seeing these dinosaurs would have made our day. The craftsmanship and imagination behind them are incredible.
The kids were amazed, and we spent a long time just taking photos and noticing every little detail.

There are 6 Experience Zones, each designed to spark creativity:

Red Zone
Build freely with thousands of bricks – pure imagination!
The Red Zone was our kids’ absolute favorite. It’s all about creativity, open play, and imagination.
They spent hours here, sitting under the giant rainbow LEGO sculpture, building their own creations and sharing ideas with other kids from around the world.
As parents, it was heartwarming to see how LEGO brings everyone together — no language barriers, just creativity.
Tip: Give yourself plenty of time here. It’s easy to spend 2–3 hours in the creative zones alone!
Blue Zone
Next, we headed into the Blue Zone, which focuses on logic, problem-solving, and design.
The highlight? Building and racing LEGO cars! 🏎️
Our kids built their own vehicles, tested them on ramps, and kept improving their designs to make them faster.
It was both educational and so much fun — they didn’t even realize how much they were learning.

Green Zone
After the fast-paced fun of racing cars in the Blue Zone, we headed into the Green Zone, where things slowed down and creativity took the spotlight.
Here, we joined the Bee Workshop, building our own LEGO bees from trays of yellow, black, and clear bricks. The kids loved designing their own versions — adding wings, stripes, and funny little faces.
Once finished, we scanned them into a digital garden, where our bees came to life on-screen — flying among creations from families around the world. It was such a magical, interactive moment!

Yellow Zone
Explore emotions and storytelling through play.

And for younger kids, there’s a Duplo Corner designed especially for ages 1–4. My youngest son loved it — he played endlessly with the Duplo trains and bricks while we watched him happily explore.

Around us were incredible LEGO builds — from miniature cities to detailed characters — truly inspiring to see what’s possible with just a few bricks.
Parent Tip: The Green Zone is calmer than the others, perfect for taking a breather while still keeping kids engaged and creative.
Lunch at MINI CHEF
Robots Serving Your Food!
Midday, we took a break and had lunch at MINI CHEF, the famous LEGO House restaurant where robots serve your food!
You order using LEGO bricks, send your tray into the kitchen, and a few minutes later, a robot delivers your meal right to your table — it’s like dining inside a LEGO movie.
It’s such a fun and unique experience — and deserves its own story!

More to Explore
After lunch, we explored the Masterpiece Gallery, where incredible LEGO creations from fans all over the world are displayed. The attention to detail is mind-blowing — animals, cities, even entire fantasy worlds made from bricks.
We also visited the History Collection, which takes you through the story of LEGO from its beginnings in the 1930s to the modern-day sets.
There’s just so much to see and do at LEGO House — every floor offers something new and interactive.

Final Thoughts
LEGO House isn’t just a museum — it’s an experience. It’s where creativity, learning, and play all come together in the most inspiring way possible.
From the enormous LEGO dinosaurs to the interactive zones and robot restaurant, it’s truly the heart of LEGO.
Our kids didn’t want to leave (and honestly, neither did we). If you’re visiting Denmark or Legoland Billund, add LEGO House to your itinerary — it’s unforgettable.
